Areas of Specialization

Directory Service Design and Implementation - Recognized as one of the world’s leading experts in Directory Service design. Ongoing national and international consulting projects with Active Directory in the banking, petrochemical, military, utility, aviation and academic industries. In-depth experience with both Active Directory and eDirectory enables successful integration projects and greatly simplifies migration projects. Directory Architect for a Federal Government DirXML Identity Management project synchronizing eDirectory, PeopleSoft, Oracle, Notes, Windows NT, and Active Directory.

Numerous national and international NDS and eDirectory projects in the banking, petrochemical, academic, retailing and eCommerce industries. Novell consultant SME (Subject Matter Expert) for eDirectory/Active Directory integration. Emeritus member Novell CDE (Certified Directory Engineer) Advisory Council. Project lead for one of the earliest international implementations of NDS in 1993-94.

Security - Co-author of two Novell AppNotes Special Editions on Security. Former member of a leading security vendor’s research team specializing in Directory Service vulnerabilities. Widely sought seminar and symposium speaker for security topics at international conferences such as BrainShare, BrainShare-Europe, NUI-Scandinavia, MISTI, IIA, Network Congres-Netherlands and NetWorld-InterOp.

Network Design and Implementation - Nineteen years of experience designing and implementing Novell NetWare. Eight years of experience designing and implementing Microsoft Windows (NT 3.5 through 2000/XP/2003). Clients range from small businesses needing complete system installation and administration to national and international companies requiring project management, system design, custom training, and periodic reviews. Specific current emphasis includes Windows 2003/2000, NetWare 5 and 6, NetWare-Windows 2000/2003 Integration, Cisco routers and switches, Web services, Exchange and GroupWise messaging, PKIs, VPNs and Cisco PIX firewalls. Implemented and managed secure Cisco 802.11b network as a wireless ISP for a 2 sq. mile campus.

Management - Five years of experience as a certified accountant and controller for an INC. 500 software manufacturer. Responsibilities included financial and administrative operations and management information systems. Involved in all aspects of company from startup through product acceptance as industry standard.

Certified Instruction - Eleven years of experience as an instructor including Directory Service Design – NDS and Active Directory, Windows 2000/2003, Novell NetWare, Microsoft Windows NT, Internet Connectivity and Security. Specific Novell and Microsoft courses include every core operating system course required for MCSE 2003, MCSE 2000, MCSE NT4, CNE and MasterCNE. Recognized by peers in the instructional community as one the leading instructors they seek out when they need to really learn Directory Services technologies.
